I was ecstatic to be asked to be Vicky and Rob’s wedding photographer as they were such warm, friendly people and their wedding venue, Taitlands was a favourite I had been desperate to return to.
Taitlands is an exclusive, luxury wedding venue near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, with the most stunning architecture and the most amazing backdrop. Consisting of a main house, coach house, walled garden and open gardens.
Vicky runs her own beauty salon, V Beauty Salon in Baildon. Her sisters are also in the trade and were on hand for hair and make-up.
Vicky and Rob are not your average couple. Their wedding day was filled with surprises and lots of laughter. Rob’s dad pulled me to one side during bridal prep to let me know about his surprise Stig costume that he knew would make Vicky’s day as she has a fondness for fancy dress.
As Vicky was getting ready in the main house, there was only a short walk to the Coach house for the ceremony. One of the readings during the nuptials was from one of Vicky’s sister and had everyone rolling with laughter in the aisle. After the ceremony, Vicky revealed her ball and chain, much to Rob’s amusement.
I had a camera set up on a remote at the back of the ceremony to capture all angles and managed to capture some beautiful moments I would have otherwise missed.
The drinks reception took place in the walled garden, followed by the group shots and couple shots, eventually bumping into the Stig. The sun shone all day and the gardens looked amazing in full bloom and blossom. Sting was very hot in his costume!
The party took place in Taitlands’ Coach House, where the wedding ceremony had taken place. Rob’s surprise to Vicky came after the first dance, when Vicky’s favourite Elvis impersonator appeared to her absolute shock and delight! She immediate got stuck in and joined in the dancing. There was such an amazing party feeling I wanted to stay all night.
