I love my job and the variety of people I get to meet doing it. Love is love, no matter who you are or how old you are. Gill and Alec first met when they were teenagers and found each other again through Facebook a couple of decades later.
When I met Gill and Alec, Gill told me their wedding date also happened to be her 70th birthday. Alec had told me when they met again, he felt like a teenager, so I knew it would be a good one filled with lots of love! Gill also told me that Alec was still the drummer in the band he was in when they first met.
Wedding day
Gill and Alec’s wedding took place at Holdsworth House in Halifax, attended by friends, family and Alec’s bandmates. Alec and the band performed during the evening reception, with Alec on the drums.
The Distractions Band
The Distractions were formed in the 1970s and had a record deal with Island records in 1979.
It was an absolute pleasure photographing Gill and Alec’s wedding, with a front-row seat at the epic concert that formed part of the evening reception!
