Fig House at Middleton Lodge

Kirsten and Niall had an Autumn wedding at the new wedding venue, Fig House at the Middleton Lodge Estate in Richmond North Yorkshire.

Kisten and Niall had booked their Fig House wedding before the venue was completed and showed me the plans. I was so excited because I love the exposed brickwork and minimalistic rustic interior.

Engagement shoot at Fig House

In early June, we met for the couple’s engagement shoot at Middleton Lodge. They were holding an open day and had the venue set up for a wedding so potential brides and grooms could view the venue.
Fig House is set in the kitchen garden, a magnificent English garden that has been planted to look amazing all year round. An absolutely perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.

Wedding day

Kirsten, her mum, bridesmaids Liz and Rachel and her adorable flower girl got ready within the estate. Niall and the guests met at the Coach House for a drink before moving through the estate to the Fig House for the wedding ceremony.
Fig House was set up with rustic wooden chairs and filled with stunning floral displays from The Wilde dressed simply and beautifully.
After the celebration drinks following the ceremony, we braved the crisp Autumn day for couple photographs in the grounds. Niall is quite a shy person, whenever Kirsten’s around his eyes light up, and he has the biggest smiles. The garden is full of colour and texture all year round due to the design and planning of the planting.

During the speeches, Best Man Mark revealed that the newlyweds met through online dating. With their first date on Valentines day 2014 in Leeds. Kirsten’s Dad presented Niall with “The Rules” for a happy marriage. After the wedding breakfast and speeches, Mark Wadding amazed everyone with his magic tricks. Kirsten’s nephew was particularly taken with Mark and was asking career advice to become a magician!
Craig Bevan entertained guests with a mixture of live music and DJing throughout the evening.
Thank you so much to Kirsten and Niall for having me to photograph your wedding.
